The Office of Academic Planning maintains UCI’s Five-Year Planning Perspectives – a catalogue of the university’s five-year outlook for changes to academic programs and academic units, such as departments and schools.

A brief overview of the current plan can be viewed here. Please contact our office with any questions related to the Five-Year Planning Perspectives.

  • Review a sample two-page summary.
  • Prepare a two-page summary of the proposed action.
  • Submit the summary to acadplan@uci.edu with a cc: to tmolidor@uci.edu.

Additional Requirements

The Graduate Division's Academic Program Development site includes policies and detailed procedures for proposing actions related to academic programs and academic units.

New graduate degree program proposals require a comprehensive diversity plan. The Graduate Council website requires the Office of Inclusive Excellence endorsement of diversity plans before program proposals are submitted for review.
